Help! I posted a WL book by mistake just seconds ago. (Clicked ont he wrong button.) How do I cancel it?

You have to wait until someone accepts, and then you can cancel it.  I did that once myself, and of course it wound up being a book that had to filter through multiple members before I could cancel.  Hope this helps!

Put your account on hold. Then it'll go on your shelf on hold if it times out or gets declined by the first person. If it's accepted you just have to click "I cannot Mail For Other Reasons".

Thank you caviglia & Mary. I am not sure I understand the processing of putting my account on hold. So what happens to the first person in line who's been notified that the book is available? Will she still be able to request it? I don't want her to lose her #1 position because of my mistake.

Sharon, as long as you cancel the order the wisher will not lose her spot in line.

Or, if it's not a "keeper", you still have time to read it & send it out...

Thanks to all. Putting my account on hold works out very well. (Although I hope never having to do this again!)

It's not a keeper, Debbie, but it has to go back to the library. I mixed it up with a discard to be posted.

Account hold doesn't stop any active transactions-like the WL offer being able to be accepted.  But it will prevent it going to the next person in line if the 1st person doesn't respond.  I put my account on hold quite a bit to stop WL offers from coming. But I take it off to post WL books. Several times I have had to unhold because the 1st person didn't respond and the book went on my shelf on hold instead of being offered to the next person.

One time I posted a book and then noticed damage to it afterwards.  The 1st person didn't respond and goign on hold prevented me from having to disappoint the 2nd person.
