I haven't had any trades in a while and only joined in April so maybe I just forgot this, but I went to the Members' Wishlist and saw the book I just finished had 74 requests and the ISBN matched (a first for me) so I posted it from there and  of course got an immediate msg that it was awaiting acceptance from the first person on the waitlist. However, the book is still listed in my bookshelf as available and I thought it wouldn't show up there if it was in the process of being requested from me.  What's up?

I just looked at your shelf and sorted by date.  The last book it shows you posted was on 10/27/09.  So that means the WL book that's on hold isn't showing to the public, just to you.

How long ago did you post it?  There is an hour long buyer's remorse period before it actually posts.

A book on auto-request will remain on your shelf with a grey (!) next to it where the check box usually is. These are not visable to anyone but you.  After the 1hr buyer's remorse it will move to the request tab. Only books on the 48-hr hold go into the WL Hold tab when you post them.

Thanks, all. How would we newbies survive without you?

Make sure you are looking at the public view of your bookshelf.  I got really confused the other day when I saw all the books I recently received on my bookshelf.  Then I saw the link that says something like "public view of bookshelf".

OK, now the WL book that was on hold as soon as I posted it no longer shows as on hold or that it has gone on to next person in line.

It's still showing your most recently posted book as being 10/27. So it's either on 1hrs Buyers Remorse Hold or on WL hold.  If it's on your shelf then there should be a ! on the far right that says "on WL hold or 1hr hold" or something like that.

It's possible that the 1st person who had it on autorequest cancelled the request. (maybe they forgot to delete it from their WL or decided they don't want it afterall).  Now it's being offered to the next person in line.
