Hey Denise,

Odds are these are ARCs that people are posting to one another through the ARC thread at BB.

OK, ran over to BB to see what I was missing...nada.  Didn't find any mention of these titles, also haven't seen them move in Romance or PnR threads for wishlisted books.   Rats...

If someone has a history with another member trading ARCs, they may offer them directly and not post about it. I'd like to know where to get my hands on an Ecstasy Unveiled ARC. mmmmm...

They could be buddies postng to each other because they know they dont' mind ARCS.  There are quite a few members on here that get a lot of ARCS and they probably have people on their buddy list that they know want them. So they PM instead of offering them to the community.

Or they are people trying to send out an ARC hoping no one will call them out.

Melanie and I were posting at the same time:

Also the books may be already printed and ready to go and sent out to reviewers, book stores, as promotionals etc..., -but are real actual copies of hte book and not ARCs.

Anybody know any authors?  The impression I have is that even they don't get regular books until a few weeks before the release date, earlier is almost always ARCs.   And how about those ARCs?  how far out are they published and distributed?  The Ione & Leigh are 5 and 6 months from release.  I've seen a couple authors comment that at 4 to 6 months out they are still making edits, sometimes major revisions.  Of course, that's one reason PBS considers ARC's unpostable!

I'm sure this varies by publisher, but anyone have perspective or information to share?  Inquiring minds and all that...

Ione talks about being busy with meeting her deadline in her blog in mid September. I wouldn't think there'd be a version completed enough to even call an ARC a couple weeks after that.  There are some PBS members that work for publishers, but I can't believe the author or publisher would be happy to have the a copy of the book circulating so far in advance of them selling it.

Because all are paranormal and on the same date, I would guess it was someone messing up trying to Wish List them or something. Even a cancelled posting stays recorded as a posting in those #s I believe.

I also have difficulty believing the publisher would print books months in advance, then pay to store them for long periods of time before releasing them for sale.

Melanie, I wonder about that also!  The possibility of a confused newbie attempting to wishlist books.  And yes, I've had books posted to me, which the sender cancelled (hubby wasn't ready to part with it yet), but it still shows as the last date the book was posted into the system.

If any of the books mentioned were written by a British author they were published earlier in the UK.  I got The White Queen from the UK before it was published in the US.
