Hi! I tried to post a book to someone's wishlist earlier today, but the request went to a different person. I sent a PM to the person that I had tried to post it to, and she hadn't received the offer. What could I have done wrong? I went to the person's WL and clicked the "Post this book" button next to the book on their wishlist. I canceled the request to the wrong person (and I feel really terrible about that) and tried again. This time I definitely saw it say that it was posting it to the right person, but now that the request has come in, I am nervous. Is there any way for me to see who requested the book before I click whether or not I can mail it?

there should be a PM button, maybe in the upper right corner on your main account page.  that is who you can see it is going to as of right now.

very odd if you were on her wishlist page and posted the book from there and it didn't go to her.  That is the way it is supposed to work.

another thought, when you go to your bookshelf, is it on there with a grey !?  actually never mind, that wouldn't matter because that is the 1 hour buyer's remorse symbol not for the seller/sender

I don't think you can tell before you accept the offer.

You have to accept first, and then you can see who is requesting.

Is it possible that you clicked on the her bookshelf, but then clicked on the book title before clicking "post this book"?  That would take you to the general pbs community and the FIFO order.

This actually happened to me the last time I tried to send a book to a friend several months ago. Since it was a heavily wishlisted book, I went ahead and sent it to the person it showed, I guess it was the next person in line for the book. I haven't tried to do it since because of that though...

I don't think you can tell before you accept the offer.

It all depends on what status the book is in...if it still says it is a WL hold there is a PM button and you can see who it has gone to.  If they have accepted then you can't see until you accept the order

However, in the OP's situation (not that I have reread it!) she will have to accept before she will know who has accepted the book.  she could always ask her friend if she got the request

When you post a book to a specific person's wish list, you have to meet all the following conditions:

- click Post This Book while looking at her wish list, not at the book details

- make sure you are posting the exact ISBN that is on her wish list

- if her account is on hold, then she has to have auto-request set to yes for this book and have credits available

It worked the second time. I did wait until I got a PM to accept. I feel bad about the person that I canceled, but I am going to a FOL sale later today, so maybe I can find something from her WL for her.

Thanks for the responses!!

This just happened to me to and I felt really bad for the person next in line for the WL. I think my problem was it was a different ISBN. I'll have to make sure she has the exact copy I'm posting on her WL next time.
