Can I post a WL book that's on my wish list?  Has anyone done this?  I received one today that didn't meet my requestor conditions, so I'm back on the wish list.  In the meantime, this copy is perfectly fine, so I was going to go ahead and repost it and send it on to the next person.  Will that remove me from the wish list or anything like that?  I just didn't know if I needed to wait until I get a new copy to post this one.

Try it and see.  That's the only thing I can suggest.  Then come back and tell us so we know what to tell others with the same question!! ;D

If you post it, then it will be offered to you because you were put back at or near the front of the line. If there are other members in front of you, then most likely this book doesn't meet their conditions either and you'll have to decline to send it to them first.

Once it's offered to you, you'll have to accept the offer as the wisher and then decline the request due to your own requestor conditions as the sender. Make sure to check your credit registry after you accept your own offer, just to verify that the credit got returned properly.

Well, it's a highly wishlisted book, so I don't want to risk getting bumped if something weird happens with it!  Also, since there are so many people, I'm back at #30 right now.  I had a RWAP with this same book last week, and it put me back in line at #31, and that same night another copy was offered to me - so I guess it's moving fast!  That being said, I'm not at the front of the line, so it would go to someone else, or several someone elses, first.  I'm guessing another one will be offered in the next couple of days, so I'll probably wait just to be safe.  =)

Depending on the genre of the book, you could also offer it on the WL threads that some of the genre threads have.  (love & romance, paranormal, and I think mystery/thriller are some of them)  That way, you'd be posting it directly to someone and wouldn't have to worry about cancelling or posting it to yourself.

That's true Heather, I didn't think of that!  I'll probably go ahead and do that this time.  =)

Just wondering if the OP tried re-posting the book, and what happened.

I ended up posting it directly to another member instead.  That didn't affect my standing on the wish list, so maybe posting it the regular way would be OK too...?  =)

Posting it the regular way would definitely offer the book to yourself if you're first on the wish list. This occasionally happens by mistake and people post about it here and ask for help, so unless the system's been changed recently, that's what would have happened.

I wasn't put back at the #1 spot though, I was #30.  That's why I wasn't sure about it.
