Weird, the last 3 or 4 books I've received on which postage stamps have been used have not been postmarked at all. Is anyone else seeing that?

I've heard that some of the post marks are now using infrared ink, so they show up under special lights, but do not block the address.   Or would that be ultraviolet?

"postage stamps have been used have not been postmarked at all."

I have noticed for months - maybe a year - that mail with actual stamps frequently comes here without a cancelation mark.

"show up under special lights, but do not block the address. Or would that be ultraviolet?"

It would be easy enough to check out... a so-called "black light" would make "invisible" ink appear to glow.

I see this on and off, in waves like other USPS issues.  I mark them off with a permanent marker so DH isn't tempted to reuse them.  I'd actually say I'm seeing more cancelled stamps recently.  A year or so ago probably half of the incoming packages arrived with no visible postmarks.

I had one from a PBS swap a few months back, but would not say I 'm seeing it more than usual.
