I was up all night with our Jimi Cheezsteak.  He'll either be 14 or 15 on June 1st (we can't remember the year and the vet where we took him when he was small is out of business).  He suddenly lost all control of his hind legs.   DH took him to the vet yesterday and we were told this isn't uncommon in older cats and small dogs.  He's on antiiinflammatories in case its due to something pressing on his spine.  But it's just as likely to be cancer for which they can do nothing.  He scoots around the house pretty well, doesn't appear to be in pain, and is eating well.  He can't make it in/out of his cat box so we've set up a pad next to it (plastic underneath a soft towel).  We know this is probably the beginning of the end (vet told us to prepare for it).  We just want to give him every chance and hope his passing is gentle when it comes.  All prayers and kind thoughts happily accepted. 

{H}...prayers go out to you. I am glad that you are taking care of your cat so well. He knows he is loved by you.

My very best to you and Jimi, Ani! I had to say goodby to my 2 senior cats in December amd it was awfully  tough. They were 16 and 17 years old. ♥

My thoughts are with you and your beloved kitty. It isn't fair that are fur babies do not live as long as we do...

He's still hanging in there.  The antiinflammatories don't seem to be doing him any good as there has been no change.  He is becoming more lethargic so we're just loving on him as much as we can.

Jimi Cheezsteak reached his 14th (15?) birthday with us yesterday, against all odds.  He entered into that last, deep sleep sometime this morning, at home and in comfort.
