TV Reporter Andrea Malone wanted to interview the elderly General Ratliff, if she could get past his watchdog son, Lyon Ratliff.

I really could not get into this book. I thought both main characters were unlikeable, especially the heroine. There are also many misunderstandings through out the book that could be cleared up if they just had a conversation.

An interview with aging U.S. General Ratiff at his texas ranch could get it for her - especially if she uncovered the secret that drove him into seclusion.
