This book has a plot of "keep them apart" theme with an interesting twist. It is also complete with challenge, revenge, passion, and much much pleasure. Highly recommend for a good read.

Dare and Julienne's story, explains his heartbreak from long ago. I think this is the last one, but there is a mention at the very end of Brynn's brother Grayson going missing, not sure if Ms Jordan is referring to another book in this series or not. Very good!

this is a great book! sensual and full of confrentation and arguments which of course all get resolved in the end. it is kind of cookie cutter in its plot layout but the heroine is strong and dare is a wonderful leading man.

Those looking for history in their Regency may have to settle for sex in Jordan's followup to The Seduction. When her bookish and noble fianc and lifelong friend, Geoffrey, Earl of March, is lost at sea, Lady Aurora Demming, daughter of the powerful duke of Eversley, believes she has lost her only chance to be free of her abusive fatherDa fear intensified by his having arranged a marriage for her with a controlling man twice her age. An opportunity for freedom arises when Nicholas Sabine, an American about to be hanged for murder and piracy, asks her to marry him for just one dayDand one tempestuous night. His money will give her independence, while her title will enable her to guarantee that Nicholas's raven-haired half-sisterDa love child born out of wedlockDwill be accepted by British high society. Aurora's new life as a London widow and the guardian of her new ward is shattered when Nicholas appears at a masquerade ball, explaining how he escaped death and desiring to claim her publicly as his wife. Although she is desperately attracted to him, Aurora fears marriage to a man so passionateDabout danger, life and loveDwill trap her as completely as did life with her father. Just as Nicholas seems to be persuading her of their mutual love and rightness for each other, the long-lost fianc turns up, obviously not drowned at all. Jordan aptly maintains the tension between Aurora and Nicholas, while moving the plot smartly along with lively dialogue and interesting secondary characters.

He is Englands most notorious rake. Known as Dare to his friends, the wicked, outrageously charming Marquess of Wolverton is a consummate pleasure-seeker. But the seductive lifestyle is just his way of burying painful memories of the dazzling actress who once shattered his heart. When treachery threatens the Crown, Dare resolves to use his former beloved to help unmask a deadly traitor.

Forced to betray the only man she ever loved, Julienne wants simply to forget the tender passion they had known as young lovers. But when Dare publicly vows to have her again as his mistress, she responds to his challenge with a vow of her own: to bring the Prince of Pleasure to his arrogant knees.

As romantic adversaries, they play a provocative game of seduction. As patriotic allies, they embark on a perilous mission rife with danger and desire. And as their unforgettable passion rekindles, together they discover what Dare has long deniedthat true love is the greatest pleasure of all.
