Topic: is printed postage consider metered mail or stamped mail?

at my post office there are slots for stamped mail and meter mail

so I'm wondering  is printed postage consider meter mail or stamp mail ?

I would not consider it either, it is online postage which is not metered, but definitely not stamped.

If I had to chose, I'd put it in with the metered since it is more like that than stamped.

At a guess, metered because it won't need cancelled?

that's what i thought too and i bet that's how some people have mailed stuff (with a stamp) and it never get postmarked its probably

because they "accidentally": put the stamped mail into the meter slot

Denise has it right, stamped mail needs to be cancelled while other forms of postage don't.  Around here the labels are left overs from the past.   Automation has eliminated the need to separate stamped letters from metered.
