I have already printed the postage for a book. The next morning I receive a message from the requester that she has changed her mind? Do I cancel the request and will my money be refunded for the postage I purchased or what?  Thank you...Molly

Tell her she missed the deadline to cancel and the book is on the way.

Agreed with Barbara S,

There is a reason the requester can't cancel after the postage is printed.

Yes, you are out the money for postage (so you might as well send it), no you cannot get your place back in line (so you might as well send it), and yes she still owes you the credit.

Not to be mean, but as with everything else, the time to consider a purchase is before you hit the checkout counter, or hand over the money.  She should have made up her mind before clicking "Process My Order".

EDIT: Thanks thought one thing typed another.

There is a reason the sender can't cancel after the postage is printed.

I think it is the requester that can't cancel after the mailing label has been printed. The sender still can.

What they said...unless she wants to reimburse your postage (and agree to not receiving the book).  You shouldn't hve to pay for her error/mistake/whatever.

What they said.  The help docs say that she can PM you and ask, but that you aren't obligated to cancel, especially if you've printed postage already.

Who can cancel a request and when?

keep ALL the PMs you have with the requestor  til the transaction is COMPLETELY done in case you have to prove your side of things to PBS.

=1 to what barbelaine1 said.

also to add to what trucker said, the requestor gets 1 hr buyer's remorse before you even get the request.  you already printed the mailer, they are out of luck.  you mail it, you have the DC on it, right?  it's too late for them, you are out the $, you get the credit.  If YOU cancel, the ding is on you.
