The Flat Rate USPS envelope is $5.30.  I asked my P.O clerk if I can put $5.30  in stamps on it and then put it in the big PACKAGE DEPOSIT SLOT.

She said I CAN do that. I thought we always had to bring the Flat Rate envelopes to a clerk to process it?

IF it's under 13 oz, you can drop it in slot, but OVER 13 oz you must take it to the counter if you are paying with stamps

You can save money by printing the postage from usps.com or paypal.com/shipnow, both are free to use and have free DC.
