I mailed a book and it was recieved today, the person who recieved it said that it was "chewed up on the edges like from a dog" the thing is, I ALWAYS check books before I post and before I mail them. I did not see anything wrong with this book and I don't even OWN a dog. What can I do, because I don't think its fair to give this person a point back, if I checked it. Please help. This is the 1st time this has happened to me and it makes me not even want to swap anymore, because, I know that I check my books, like I'm sure most of you guys do. Thanks! |

Was the wrapper "chewed" as well? That would be a post office damage issue. |

She didn't say. But, the way she talked it was all my fault. |

If you know it was fine when you sent it and you wrapped it well then you shouldn't refund the credit. |

Happend to me once, I always look the books over before I say I can mail, the requestor said it had water damage which wasn't true. She didn't ask for her credit back I didn't offer. I always look before posting but I double check before sending as well just to be safe because I am not the only person in my house. Don't sweat it.

I've had corners chewed up because of the post office and/or inadequate packaging (aka, book floating around loose in a giant envelope). If you are sure that wasn't the condition you sent the book in you should ask her if the wrapping was also messed up. Even well wrapped packages occasionally get done over by the post office. This is a very long shot, but sometimes if you don't click "sent" by the date you said you'd send it (or forgot entirely to click it) someone else in line after you might get selected by the system and send her a book as well. It is possible she has received her book from someone else and did not get yours yet. If she still has the wrapper see if the name on it is actually your name and/or she can check her transactions log to see if someone else has sent her the same book and it got to her before your good book has. This is a very long shot, but I've read on the boards this exact scenario before. |
