I mailed 2 books on Friday, Feb 1 with PBS DC. They were scanned as Accpeted at my post office on Friday. They were scanned numerous times Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and were scanned as delivered today. Yet on the Books I've Mailed tab, under Details, it simply lists the DC number, and I have not received my Quick Credit. Frankly, I wasted my money if I'm not going to get Quick Credit. I have WL offers and I'm waiting for the receivers to mark them received when I should've had my Quick Credits on Friday.

Is anyone else having this problem?

They had a problem coordinating with the post office during the pastage increase and DC wasn't working properly for a day or two. I believe it has since been fixed and back to normal, but it sounds like you mailed your packages in that window of time when it wasn't working.

"The Fix" didn't work.  So no, if you are using PBS e-DC only ... the credit assurance/quick credit feature is non-functional.  It's a USPS problem, they don't seem to be in any hurry to correct...maybe because in the meantime they are collecting .90 for tracking instead of .20 for e-DC.

Well dang. I just printed another label with PBS DC only. What a waste of $$.

ETA: Thanks for the replies.

You can contact PBS under Feedback. They should be able to apply the credit to your account.

I had sent in feedback before posting here, and they just gave me Quick Credit for both books. It had to be a team member, as I got the Quick Credt emails but the USPS scan info is still absent. That was really fast feedback on the team's part! Impressive! Thanks team!

Well I mailed out 5 books with PBS DC,  on 2/1,  and my credit hsn't been applied, and no answers from anyone.  :(  It's 2/4 today.

Maybe they are getting deluged w/requests.

It's not working for anyone, as far as I can tell. They ought to turn off the feature instead of collecting everyone's money when they know it's not working.

I was thinking the same thing. Why are they taking payments for what amounts to nothing?

Sheryl count yourself lucky you got the quick credits most of us don't seem to even be getting an email back from the team.  I never got the quick credit or a pm back on my feedback and its been 3-5 days.

Hopefully your new one will collect scans outside of pbs too, some haven't been.  That way incase it gets delivered and not marked received you can still prove its been delivered.

Agree with you, Lisa and Becca. My PBS DC barcodes are being scanned without a problem. The scans are not being sent/translated over to PBS however.

Maybe the OP got a quicker response because she was out of credits and had WL offers pending.  They may be doing those type of requests first so people don't lose out on WL books.

I sent 7 books out with QC only (no PBS postage) on Monday (2/4/13) and they still haven't been scanned, although I watched the postal clerk scan them at the PO, but I still have a gray check mark showing no scan.  I have contacted TPTB.

Unfortunately, with the change-over at the PO, there's no way for the postal clerk to collect the $.20 due for the PO, and when they can't do that they can't actually make the scan work except by doing a pre-paid, but that doesn't allow the PO to collect their portion of the DC.  Hopefully they'll get it corrected soon.  Doing the $.90 postal DC doesn't do any good for getting a QC, so it's pretty worthless for PBS purposes.  Pat

I actually buy my postage at the APC and then drop the book in the mail, so I've had no problem paying for PBS DC. But the scans aren't being transmitted to PBS and I'm not getting my quick credits.

I have the same problem.  However, my post office said my barcode didn't work and she printed out a whole new tracking number---so I don't see how I could get the quick credit when I don't have the same number being scanned that was originally printed by PBS.  I'm hoping the person getting the book does follow through on marking it mailed so all is not lost.

The Team posted an update in the USPS Forum:  @ 2/6/2013 11:51 AM ET

Bottom line, 1) the quick credit and PBS onsite tracking are non-functional (they are working on it).  2) the e-DC only option is still being a problem...a USPS procedural issue.

Be aware that it's also a problem on the DVD sister site. The local PO could not scan my PBS DC today and wanted and additional 90 cents for PO DC despite the PBS DC scan being free even before this January's rate increase..

While I understand that PBS really has no control over this, or how long it takes to fix it, I do think they need to stop charging for the feature and disable it then.

USPS was able to scan my Tracking # I got on the DVD site, and I saw the different scans on USPS site, but never got quick credit for it... so I think it is the feed.

First - I did get the QC for the books I mailed on 2.4.13 - presume they were from TPTB/PBS -  as it's still not showing any activity in DETAILS on the site, but the checkmark has been changed from gray to yellow.

Second - I was at my PO today and was told there is no way for the USPS to scan DC as it stands right now.  They took the message I got from PBS and were going to see if their rep could contact the PBS rep and see if anything can be worked out.    It's not just PBS, it's anyone who uses a DC without using the postage also.  Hope they can get it fixed soon. Pat

Here's what I just sent PBS via the 'contact us' button after the local postmistress rang me with the included information:

I have already contacted you twice about the post office being unable to scan PBS DC without an additional 90 cent fee to replace it with thier own generated DC. Once with a media mail book and earlier today with a DVD on the sister site, where the DC scan should have been free.

Today the postmistress of the local post office (Centerville, Iowa) rang me to tell me that in future the only e-DC the post office is able to scan is that purchased online complete with postage.

Is this the case? It seems that's the post office shooting itself in the foot, afterall if DC and postage are purchased online, there's no need to go to an actual post office thus no need for a scan. She assured me that the post office's long term goal was online postage and DC and pointed out that until now they've been able to 'get around' this rule but no more.

Unfortunately there's a 50 cent fee for this service at PBS.

ETA Ooops, just realized the fee is 55 cents.

Just got another WL offer--with 2 book credits stuck in limbo because this isn't working. Not happy.
