I'm having problem with BOB requests. I'll get notices from PBS saying my offer has been declined when I haven't offered for a BOB in months. Or I'll get Bob requests and when I go to see what they are they're blank. This has been going on for about a month. I've spoken to live help and they have no clue. I've also looked on the FAQ section as well as emailed feedback and the VP of PBS and so far no answers. It's very frustrating. I'm missing out on BOBs I'm sure. Does anyone else have the same problem or does anyone know what to do about it?

Please send a message to R&R about it by using the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page.

What does it show on your cancelled BoB tab?

Michelle, what cancelled Bob tab do you mean? Sometimes they show up as an actual PBS member as having received a BOB offer from me (which I never offered) and other times it shows up blank...ie: No PBS member and no books offered. Just blank.

I believe you will get the message about "your offer has been declined" even when it is someone else who initiates the offer, then subsequently declines it, even if you haven't seen it yet.  You could verify that by asking a friend to open a bob request from you and then decline it; if you get that email then that confirms the theory.

The empty bob offers can occur when the book(s) the other person has requested are removed from your shelf before you accept their offer (i.e. they may have been requested for credits, you may have manually deleted them from your shelf, or they were in another bob offer that was mutually accepted [books in BOB offers remain requestable from your shelf until both of you accept the offer]).

Thanks for that first explanation Bret.

The second paragraph you wrote doesn't apply really. I'm on the computer constantly and check mail as it comes in and I don't get any Bob offers that I don't immediately reply to. (Anal of me I know, lol)

It doesn't seem to make sense because I'm getting too many blank ones. As I also mentioned, I had someone decline my offer because they said I sent them an offer on 10/8 (which I didn't, my husband was in the hospital then) and since I hadn't responded they declined. I'm getting too many of these for it to be coincidental.

Sometimes it takes a while to get feedback.  Hopefully they will get to you soon.  I really don't think there is anything else you can do right now.

Sorry Katie, that's what I meant. And again, if I had received the offer I would have responded to it the same day. Sorry about that!

LOL Katie, I'm thinking we should send TAPS out to investigate BOB, lol.

So yesterday I sent out two BOB requests to see what would happen. Both members responded and I got a notice but still when I click on the link I get a blank BOB box. What I finally figured out to do is go to Community > BOB> and click on my pending BOBs and see what's what. At least that way I can see what's going on, although with one of the BOBs I had requested 2 books and got a notice that my offer had been updated. When I went to see what the update was, they had whittled my two books down to one and had requested none. I ended up PM'ing the other boxer to see if that's what they really want or if PBS is not getting the BOBs accurate. *sheesh*!!

I've emailed R&R both and still no resolution. This is really frustrating.

Ivy - so you always go through the link and not to the tab to see pending BOBs? If they show in the tab, I'd just start checking there whenever you get an offer.

Regarding your last post - the email goes out with any changes, your side or theirs. So if one of the books you requested was removed from their shelf by an order or another BOB request being accepted, the system will automatically remove if from your order and send the message in case you want to cancel the transaction without that book.

I've had by BOB on hold for that last month because I was too busy to keep up with the volumn. Glad I've missed the gremlins.

Yep Melanie, that's exactly what I've been doing is checking my pendings.

Thanks for letting me know about if the book is removed from the other persons shelf. I still haven't heard back from them on my PM...we'll see what happens.

Hi again.,

I used to be a tech support specialist in medicine. When you send your information to support include the following if you can: screenshots of the event, date& time of event, precise step by step of what happened, what you see versus what you should be seeing, addresses involved, browser used and version,  make screenshots after compiling that information.

If you give complete information, tech support here never lingers. The longest I have ever seen is 8 hours without complete info.

I hope this helps though the angels and miracles still are here *smiles*.,

Carly

I've noticed that when I click the link in my email, after it "logs me in", it will go to a blank BoB page.

Click the link in my email again right afterwards and it brings up the proper screen.   Or, just click "BoB" and then go to the Pending BoBs.

It looks like the system gets confused after it logs you in.  The same with the forums.  If I idle too long between pages, sometimes it takes me back to the forum list, others it puts me in a blank "new post" screen.
