Author is a New York Times Best seller and lots of review all great. "a novel that melds White House intrigue with Courthouse drama with masterful depth." "Powerful and gripping from beginning to end" I enjoyed reading it very much.
This book goes into great depth on the abortion issue specifically late term abortion and its constitutionality. No matter which side you're on it will definitely make you think. As for me, I now have a different appreciation for the other sides views. The book also takes you into the nomination of a Supreme Court judge and how each side of the aisle mud sling and try to undermine each other to get their way in the process. It's a very good story with strong currents of todays world.
I heard Patterson speak as the keynote speaker at the National Abortion Federation meeting a few years ago soon after this book was published and got a signed and dedicated copy as I was an active abortion provider at that time. This book is a really good dissection of the hypocracy of some of the real anti-abortion fanatics and the problems they cause, especially for their own family members. It is a really good novel, too.
