Christian Library International (CLI) ships gently used Bibles and Christian books to more than 1000 prisons. They ship to every state in the Union and to a multiple number of prisons in each state. Many men, women, and young people have made a commitment to Christ as a result of this ministry. It is non-denominational, but very much Christ-centered. CLI has delivered more than 300,000 volumes to prisons, jails, and youth detentioon centers. My husband and I work as volunteers with this organization. You can get a lot more information about this minstry by going to their website www.cli-nc.org. If you are interested in participating by donating Bibles and/or Christian books, please contact me.

I think this is an awesome ministry, and I would like to send some bibles.

My church did a book drive for CLI.  A lot of books came in and people seemed genuinely pleased to be able to give their Christian books to such a good cause.

I have no Bibles available, but are you interested in the books by Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim LaHaye.  If so, would be willing to forward them to you.  Phyllis.

Is it ok if they have a name written in them? or some underlining?

I answered these questions in PMs to those who asked them, but thought others might have the same questions.

Yes, the Left Behind books are OK to send.

Yes, it is OK to have names written in the books and some underlining. CLI just asks that the books be in good condition, hence the request for "gently used Bibles and Christian books."

If you have other questions, please post them.

I just had a request for the address to mail the gently-used Christian books/Bibles to Christian Library International and thought I would post it here in case anyone else is interested. It is:

Christian Library International
3800A Hillcrest Drive
Raleigh, NC 27610
Please also put ATTN: Donna Beckham

The reason for the attention line is so they can identify where you learned about CLI. After they receive the books, they will send you a letter and form for donation credit if you want it for tax purposes. If you have any questions, contact me through this forum or a personal message.

If you have any Christian Books or Bibles that you don't need anymore, they can be a blessing to people in prison who want to change their lives. If you are interested check out the Christian Library International website at www.cli-nc.org. Read about this wonderful organization and find out how to participate in the ministry. If I can answer any questions, please contact me by personal message.
