A huge amount of detailed research went into this extensive report of the real stories of the gangsters of the 1930s and the creation of the FBI to stop their crime sprees. Very interesting history. Book on CD is well read.

Burrough cuts through the hollywood fantasy to tell the real story of the Feds 'war on crime" from 1933-35. The rise to national prominence of J. Edgar Hoover and the FBI into a highly sophistictaed national police force, the hunt for John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson, Pretty Boy Floyd, V8 Fords, blazing tommyguns, it's all here.
