I was very excited about starting this book by EJ aka Lisa Marie Rice.  But I read that it contains the torture and killing of the h's pet dog.  Has anyone read this book?  How graphic?  How bad?  On the one hand I love Lisa Marie Rice but on the other  I don't think it would seem like fiction to me.  I still feel sick from seeing on the local news that some sorry  b*****d beat and stabbed and finally shot their little schnauzer because he was "upset" with it for barking.  News flash, moron, schnauzers love to "talk". When our schnauzer  was a puppy she used to practice all the different sounds she could make just to hear her own voice.  We got such a kick out of it.  That was in the news a few months after I had to have her put to sleep because of her cancer.

Anyway, has anyone read this book?

Oh dear.  I haven't read the book either, but if that turns out to be true then thanks for the heads-up.  I can't handle animal abuse either!

No I've never heard of Jennings or Rice.  But that's pretty bizarre.

This was mentioned in reviews at Amazon.  There are only 3 or 4 reviews because this book is so new but I think 2 of them mentioned it.  So it was something they were bothered by.  i know Amazon reviews aren't exactly the word handed down from above, but still.

I loved this book. and yes the torture was something I could go without (it was a cat) but its a quick scene and just tries to explain how crazy the guy is.

That's what I wanted to know.  If it is just in one place and easily  skipped or scenes of it appearing  at several places.  I'm not a reader of suspense.  I mean when things get tense in the movies my husband watches I leave the room and say tell me when it's over.  Human torture and animal and child abuse are the worst. Those scenes just stay with you.  Thanks for the info.
