I want to know if it's ok to post a message saying something like this "Vote for my friend so she can get her kitchen refurbished at a -particular site-"?

I want to post it on the ROAK site. I know it's for her kitchen, but it's also because I want to see my good friend happy. Her kitchen is in bad need of repair, appliances and all.

Let me know,

Thanks,

Elona

I know some people have had those kinds of posts edited and others have been told to stop posting to the thread by TPTB. Yet other posts of that nature have gone unnoticed. I know that's not an answer to your question really, just sharing what I've noticed.

I hope it's not allowed.  It's a short step from "vote for my dog in World's Ugliest Pet Contest" to "Vote to keep Marie Osmond on Dancing with The Satrs" to "Vote for James Dean for US Presifent".  If you allow one, then the others will eventually follow.  And sooner or later someone will be offended.

But then personally, I don't see the need for  non-book related signatures anyway.
