Is this odd ? Say u P.M. a person u mailed a book to that hadn't recieved it yet and they respond they have had a few books not appear so maybe you'rs wont either?  Is it just me over thinking this situation? No books posted when I checked profile lots of recieved but fewed mailed? Is this normal? I'm not blaming any certain member for anything just need some feed back never had a situation like this before.

Heather--

That certainly sounds suspicious to me.  You might want to let the PBS Team know about her little "premonition" so they can investigate if they choose.

Cheers,

Catt

I have received more books than I have mailed. I bought credits in the BB as I kept finding books I wanted to read. I've done some deals too so some of the books I have actually sent to someone don't appear as a book I have sent.

It does seem strange that a member would have so many books going "lost".

Perhaps they prefer to just buy their credits rather than go through what can be a hassle for some people, wrapping and sending books. If they have a lot of books received, obviously they have gotten those credits somehow, and whether they have gotten them by trading books or buying credits makes no difference.

Why would you PM a member for a book you sent if it hasn't yet gone lost anyway? The PBS information says "do not contact us before this date" so why would you contact a member about it? How long had it been since you sent the book?

To clarify the book had a few days to go before going lost , and occassionally people forget to mark the book recieved and when I inquired thats when I got the reply I mentioned it was posted lost 2 days later. She was also under the impression that I would get my credit back for the lost book.

People can also transfer credits from SwapCD and SwapDVD if they wish.

Heather, Yes, you will get your credit back if the book goes "lost". Since you have already been in contact with the sender and she says she sent the book, you may want to wait about 2 weeks (as PBS recommends) before you reorder the book, to see if it shows up.

If you do reorder the book and receive it, and then the first book arrives, you are obligated to mark it received as well (from the Transaction Archive)and to give the first sender the credit for it, as well. But, if the book was mailed by the first sender more than 2 weeks after it was marked mailed, then you do NOT have to mark it received, because the delay was their fault.

Sometimes books can take longer to arrive than the time alloted by PBS (about 4 weeks).

Oh, yeah, I read it backwards, Thanks.

Sorry, Heather, if I had read the post right I would have said, your requestor will get her credit back when the book goes lost. You won't lose a credit, though, because if you used DC, then you received the credit and PBS guarantees it, and if you didn't use DC, then you didn't receive the credit for the book yet in the first place.
