One of my favorite books on the idea of the Quest of the Historical Jesus. Despite the conclusion that Schweitzer comes to, the Quest is still a valid proposition, with new ideas and proposals appearing each year. A tremendous evaluation of the early attempts to evaluate the difference between the perception of Christ and the personhood of Jesus.
