I was wondering if I am allowed to "tell" people about my book inventory that is on another site that is similar to this one?? I have quite a bit of books in my inventory that people may be interested in and I was wanting to mention it somehow about the other site as well. The site is similar to this one, but it is a little less strict on points and ARC books. Please help??! |

No. That would be considered an ad. |

The following paragraph is at the top of the Discussion Forums homepage. It is there every time someone comes to the forums. Emphasis was added. These Discussion Forums are provided to allow you to exchange thoughts, ideas and opinions on topics that are of interest to you. Please try to keep in mind that although this is a family-oriented website, membership is restricted to those 18 and over, and some mature content and conversation is to be expected. The forums are not intended for viewing by underage children. While we do not permit what is (in our judgment) vulgarity, overt rudeness or anything obscene, we do realize that our membership is adult and will sometimes use the vocabulary of adults. Also, please do not use the discussion board to bash PaperBackSwap.com or to promote other commercial websites. This is a friendly site! Let's keep it that way. |

is pbs considered a commercial site? |

is pbs considered a commercial site? Yes. It's owned by a corporation (National Book Swap, LLC) and they offer some services for a fee (i.e. they engage in commerce). |

I'd suggest posting the same books on your bookshelf here so people are aware that you have them. Then when you get an order on one site, be sure to remove the book from the other site. The main rule to follow is to only post new books to one site and then, if no one has requested it after a week or so, then post it to the other site as well. It is pretty frustrating when you request a recently posted book and then the poster says they don't have it any longer. Remember also that postable books on another site may not be postable here, so be careful if you plan to just import your bookshelf en masse. |

No Diane, advertising is not allowed anywhere on the site. I believe a personal business web address can be listed in the Profile website, but that is it. Posting information to get people to go to the other trading sites would definitely be against the site rules. Can I use the club for advertising or to sell anything?Absolutely not. Doing so constitutes commercial use of the site and violates the Terms of Use.No advertising is allowed on the site.No advertising of any kind may appear anywhere on the site, including but not limited to Personal Messages, Discussion Forum posts, public profiles, forum sigs, book reviews, Eclectic Pen submissions, Book Wiki and Book Tags. No advertising may be included with any PaperBackSwap mailiings. PBS member addresses may not be used for mailings of any kind without the consent of the receiver. No selling is allowed on the site. The club is designed to swap books for credits. No items of any kind may be offered for sale on the site, not for money or any other compensation, with the exception of Book Credits, which may be sold between members.
