The posting guidelines say:

Binding:

  • Must be intact, with no separation on the inside or outside of the book
  • If the book tends to open at a particular page, this is OKAY
  • Small amount of fraying or denting at top or bottom is OKAY

What exactly is fraying? Does anyone know where I can find pictures?

Fraying is when there are a few threads escaping from the binding at the top or bottom. An older hardback that had been well loved but not damaged might have some fraying. It doesn't mean the whole thing is unraveling.
