I am new to paperback swap.  I posted about 11 books but only two have been requested (its been about two-three months).  I am cleaning out my library and will have about 30 more books to add.  My question is this...How long do books usually stay on shelves before someone is interested.  And should I take them down and send them to Goodwill after a certain amount of time.  I hate to just hold on to them indefinately (that is why I joined the swap).  Since I am new any advise would be great.

Thanks,

Nicole

Nicole--

I looked at your shelf and the books you have posted are either pretty common or pretty specialized.  It's hard to say when they will move.  I think you want to give things at least a couple of months to get to the front of the FIFO (first in first out) line.

I would suggest that you add your thirty books, give it a month or so and then re-assess based on space availabile in your home.  If you want to pare down for space reasons, I'd leave the more specialized books (like the pet ones) and donate some of the really common books like John Grisham and Mary Higgins Clark.

Those are my 2 cents.

I never understood what those numbers in that middle column meant.  Now I get it.  Thank you for the info.  I will stay on top of it and if I remove any it will be the ones with hundreds in the system.
