I've searched the help docs on boxed sets and came up with this....

If you do post the books individually and want to send them all to one member:

  • you can start a topic in the Book Bazaar Discussion Forum to advise members that you have a boxed set.
  • Another member may be glad to learn of this and request all of the books from you using the bulk request "order more books from this member" feature.

I have a boxed set and every book in the set is wishlisted.  The set is also WL'd, but I realize I will only get one credit for the whole set.  Can I post an offer here in BB for the set to be "swapped" as a whole but for the equal amount of credits that there are books?

Hi Krista, I would think that would be okay?!

The way the help doc has worded it though and to be certain you weren't breaking PBS rules - it looks like you could advertise the box set, stating you want a credit for each book.

Then if you receive a PM expresssing interest in the books, respond with the individual ISBN number for each book and have the requestor add the books (or make sure they are the ISBN versions they already have on their wishlist) and post each book to that member's wishlist.

It seems a complicated way to do things but it would insure that you were in line with PBS guidelines and offer the requestor some reassurance because the books would all be posted through the official channels.

No buddying of credits neeeded, you get a credit a book and the requestor gets a nice box set :-)

ETA - Of course I suggested doing it this way because the set is wishlisted. You need to post them all to the one member's wishlist. The help doc is for a non-wishlisted book set. If you do it that way and post the books individually to your shelf, they'll go to the next person in FIFO, which could and most likely will be several members. Hope I haven't confused you too much??!!

I would list one book.  Then when someone requested it ask them if they want them all for a credit each and post the rest to their wishlist if they do so they can get them all.  If they don't want them all you can always decline their offer and move on to the next one.

Joan, that won't work. Because it is FIFO, the OP will need to cancel the order. If the requestor does, she loses her place in line and that is not fair. But then if the OP reposts again, it will once again be offered to the requestor who didn't want the entire set because he or she is first in line.

Krista, follow what is in the help docs and start a thread about the boxed set you have. I am sure if it is WL'd you will get responses.

I totally understand...I was thinking the same thing when I posted this (about FIFO).  Thanks!!!

When I'm ready I may post a topic such as  "_______________ boxed set available!!!  _ books total.  Asking _ credits!!!!!"
