Hi all. This might not be the right place to post this, so if I'm wrong, my apologies. I have a question about a cancelled transaction. I requested a book from a member's bookshelf, but when I checked my transaction history page, there was a red X for the transaction. So I checked the history and it said the transaction was "cancelled." So I went back to my "Books I've Requested" tab and saw that the satus for the transaction read "Waiting for member." (which is still the status) I was curious to see if the name of the original sender was still the person I requested it from so I went to the PM page to see if the name was the same and it wasn't. So, after all of that, I guess I just want reassurance that the original book request was passed onto another member for filling if the original member was unable to fill the request? Thank you for your time! |

Your first request must've timed out and passed on to the next person with that book available. PBS manages that situation for you, so no need to worry about it. :) |

It sounds like the original order was rolled over to the next person. This happens if the original order was not marked accepted. So you are helping to weed out the inactive members.

Your request is automatically rolled to the next person in the FIFO line if: 1) the request times out, or 2) the person you requested the book from cancels the request. |

Ah, okay. Gotcha. I put in the request last night and it was "cancelled" three hours later so I'm thinking that the original sender cancelled the request, and as you all mentioned, it was passed along to another member.
Thank y'all for all the help! |

Lisa, When you go to your Transaction Archive, place your cursor over the red X. If the sender canceled the book request it will tell you. If the alloted time ran out , it will tell you. Hope this helps you out. Either way, your request goes to the next person in the FIFO method. |

If you only requested it last night then the sender cancelled for some reason. Maybe they forgot to put their account on hold and they're heading out of town, maybe they pulled it out and noticed damage that they didn't notice before. A time out would take 5 days. |
