I have several books that are in great condition, but are marked with a black line...these are usually the books I get from dollar tree, or thrift stores. The black mark are not on individual pages, just on bottom or top of book...not sure how to explain without photo.  Is this acceptable to post, hopes so because they are 65 members waiting for one of the books. thanks.

Hi Debbie,

Those are "remainder" marks and books with those are okay to post.

I agree with mary, just remainder marks and not a problem as far as posting is concerned as long as the marks don't bleed through to the actual print of the book.

What Mary said.  PBS guidelines specifically address remainder marks...from PBS Help documents, Swappability:

"...Page edges: remainder marks are OK.  A name written on the page edges is okay (if it does not bleed in and obscure text on the text pages)"
