I had some books i recently reviews, and i was posting them, as i had already looked them all up and they were all on people's Wish Lists. Well, 4 of the 5 books went on Wish List hold, and one went on my shelf? The book has 273 wishers! I checked, double-checked, and triple-checked the ISBN, i looked it up on the Book Search, and there, bold as can be, it says On my BIR list, on my Bookshelf, 273 wishers.

On my Bookshelf, it only has a little exclamation point next to it where the box usually is to check it if you want to hold it or delete from shelf... so am i waiting on something to happen here? I am confused. I have never had a Wish Listed book not go on my My Account page as waiting on a member to respond before (unless it was auto-requested, of course).

If you hover over that grey exclamation point it will show you that it's in the one hour window on its way to being requested.

It sounds like the person requesting it has it on Auto-request. What does it say when you hover your mouse over the exclamation point?

I was trying to hover over it, but for some reason Mozilla is being stupid-slow today, and nothing ever popped up.

Thank you! LOL Kind of a dumb question, but hey, i am alloted a few of those. =)

Yes, if it's on auto-request it does look like it just goes onto your shelf.  That grey exclamation mark means it'll roll over to your "books to mail" tab in 1 hr.  I don't know why PBS gives you a 1 hr buyer's remorse becasue I don't think you can remove the book from your shelf in that hour.

If you want to tell if the books you're going to post are on auto-request or not, add them to your To Be Read list.  If the W next to them is green, it's on auto-request.  If it's red, it's not on auto-request.

THe buyer's remorse is so the wisher can cancel it before the request goes through.  Although I imagine most people don't see the WL request for autorequest unti it's past that 1 hr mark.  I don't usually notice the autorequest ones until they are already in the mail to me.

<<Kind of a dumb question, but hey, i am alloted a few of those.>>

There are no dumb questions here, just dumb reasons not to ask :-)

And, judging by your user name, it ain't easy being "cheezy"  :::ducks:::

Cheers,

Catt

Yeah, unless you're on and off the site on a very regular basis, you could certainly miss that 1 hr window.

I had a WL book posted to me today.  It was on auto-request.  It was already mailed by the time I got home from work and even saw that it had been posted.  I was kind of confused to see the "book has been mailed" email for a book I didn't even know I'd requested.

I have one enroute to me that I never saw being posted.  I didn't look at the times or anything.  I'm bad about checking my email everyday.  So I checked it this morning and there's a message from PBS saying When the Wind Blows was mailed.  I didn't even remember a book by that name.  No email that is was posted or anything.  I come on and it's a James Patterson audiobook that I have no memory of putting on my WL. But it's one I haven't read or listened to yet so no biggy.  But I never saw it in the Books I've Requested Tab.

I knew about the one hour buyer's remorse, i just didn't know (or couldn't rememmber, either way) if it would show up as on hold waiting for a member, or what.

It is NOT easy being cheezy. That's very true, lmao. I have a coffee mug that says that! ^_^
