You can either wait or turn off your RC.  You can wait until that copy is ordered or until another copy is posted.  You can set up your RL to sort by date, which puts that book at the top of the list.  Otherwise you end up in a loop with that one copy over and over.

This subject still confuses me.  I thought if the request was refused for RC, the requester stayed in the system (as does the book) and would not be offered that book again unless they changed their mind and turned off their RC?  Or does that only work if there are other requesters in line to offer the book to?

If you are the only wisher, then PBS sends you a form letter telling you to wait.  It is an exception as they want to book to look available to order for other members.

The problem is that the book was not on her Wish List in the first place. She ordered it from someone's bookshelf, and it happens to be the only copy in the system. So her request was not passed on to the next person with the book, it went to her Reminder List.

If it had been a Wish List book to start with, then I believe it would go back on her Wish List when the RC was rejected.

They also changed how it works awhile back. It used to be that if a sender turned down a requestor for RCs-the requestor could no re-request from that sender even if they turned off their RCS.  People complained about this saying "well I don't mind that book not meeting my RCS" or because they were requesting it for someone else and forgot to turn RCS off.  So now they've changed it so that you can adjust to turn off your RCS and try that sender again if it's the only copy.

I think it goes by who had the book in the system first. Meaning if the sender posted their book before the request was made then they get to keep it on their shelf and the requestor has to wait. If the book was a WL book and therefor the requestor had the book in the system first-then the sender would have to wait for someone to  post one and accept the RCS before they could repost their copy.  (did that make any sense?)

What is the name of this book Zina ? Is it an older book? I have a lot of luck finding "the only book in the system" .

This is not correct. If there is a Wisher and their RCs are denied, the book will be moved to their Reminder list until that available copy is taken. The system will always go with having the book available, why have postable books having to wait to be offered to the membership because someone has higher restrictions on their request? The member who doesn't want the copy offered has to wait until that copy has been requested whether the initial transaction came from a Wish List or a request of the book from a Bookshelf.

I've seen members get really mad when they have the only book in the system and someone with RCs keeps requesting it with the RCs in place every time its denied. Its hard to tell if that copy in the system is the same one or a new one so the only way to find out is to request it, just try not to do it too often. I've also had to wait for a long time for I book I had RCs on because there was an offer of a copy that didn't meet my RCs. Its sat on my RL and I'd request it once every week or two.
