When I search for a book in "advanced search" , no books come up that are posted, including the one I have posted.

When I type the same title in the "all books" search, both mine and another that is posted comes up.

Why is that?

Rose, when you're using the Advanced Search, are you typing the Title in the Title box?  Or the Keywords box?  It is most likely a matter of a certain typing difference that is keeping it from coming up.  Most times (if I can) I search by ISBN...those seem to be the most accurate searches.

The default for the site is "posted books," even if you are using advanced search.  So, if you type something into advanced search, once it gives you your results, change your view to "all books."

ETA:  Oh wait, I just re-read your post.  Now I'm confused too.

This is the exact title that I entered in  the title line of  the advanced search and the keyword line of the
"all books" search. I just entered the title and author; not the ISBN.

Darling Ma: Letters to Her Mother, 1932-44
Joyce Grenfell - ISBN-13: 9780340423684 - ISBN-10: 0340423684

But if  someone is searching on PBS for that book, not knowing the ISBN, and they gave up after the advanced search, they would not realize that there are 2 in the system. This is  not the first time that I've searched for a book, and noticed this discrepancy.

I entered the title and the book came up just fine for me.

I put "Darling Ma: Letters to Her Mother, 1932-44 Joyce Grenfell" into the keyword search at the top of the site and one available listing (for a hardcover) came up.

If I put  "Darling Ma: Letters to Her Mother, 1932-44" into the title search field of the advanced search and searched posted books I got the same thing.

Thanks, everyone.

You're right, the hardcover (mine) did come up for me now. I did the exact same type of search a few hours before you, and the "advanced search" showed nothing posted, even though I did it 3 times. Very odd. Perhaps after a few more tries, it tweaked the system. I do have to say that it wasn't the first time or first book. I realize I could make a mistake, but 3 times?? Oh well..........

Thanks, Sherry and Liese, for trying it for me anyway.
