Hi

I am hoping that somenone can help answer my question.  I have a copy of The Virgin Lover which is unpostable.  I have posted it several times in the Book Bazaar.  I know it is WL book and I don't want to post it and then explain to requester that it is unpostable.  However, I was wondering if there is any way that I can PM a WL requester of the book and let them know I have an unpostable of this book if thay are interested.

Also I have WL list book with different ISBN - again have posted on Book Bazaar and no request yet.  Again it would be nice to PM person and let them know I have this book they may want.

Any help with these questions?

Thank you

Patty

Hi Patricia,

With your different ISBN book, I think it would be fine to PM someone with it on their WL and let them know.  Some people have it set up to not receive notification of these books when they are posted with a different ISBN.

I know it is WL book and I don't want to post it and then explain to requester that it is unpostable.

Please dont' do this...this is not acceptable in regards to PBS rules.  You can't post it if it doesn't meat the guidelines and simply posting and then PM'ing someone later isn't right either.  I suppose you could PM someone about it and let them know you have it, but I wouldn't ask for a credit for it, since they wouldn't be able to post it later for another credit.  KWIM?  You could offer it free with an order from your shelf, but I wouldn't ask for a credit for just an unpostable book.  When you posted in the BB, did you do so in the Damaged Books thread?  You could try there...many books are snatched up quickly from that thread.

Amanda

Thank you for your response.  Yes I posted in Damaged Book Thread - and I am offering it as freebie with order from my shelf.  I wouldn't posted as regular and try to explain later that it is unpostable - can definately see problem arising from that.   I just not sure how to find someone that has book on there WL in order to PM them.

Any Ideas? or should I just wait and eventually someone will find it on the damaged thread list

There really isn't a way to do this, other than just stumbling across someone who has it on their WL.  Sorry.  Be patient - your book will get requested!  Someone will find it, it just takes time.  Patience is the biggest virtue here at PBS.

Other than the fact that you can't SEE who's got it on their WL!  :-)

Patty, have you tried posting in the genre-specific forums for them?  You might target a more select audience that way.

Patty--

There's no way to do what you want to do, but you can add these titles to your signature and/or profile, so other members will see them in your forum posts, and find potential interest that way.

Cheers,

Catt

Patty, I PM'd you about this.  What is the issue with the book?  I might be interested.

The other thing you may want to do is look through some of the other discussion forums.  I am not familiar with the book, but as an example... I know the Love & Romance forum has a thread where people can make a post saying they have a WL book.  Then you could mention that it is unpostable and explain....

Sorry about the confusion on this...I was meaning she could find one of these people who has it WL'd by looking through her Buddy List...I know many people do this and will post books to their Buddy's WL.  I thought she was meaning she knew of a specific couple of people who had it WL'd.  :)
