I'm culling books this morning and found 3 of 4 Medieval hist/roms by Denise Domning; I have one missing (WINTER'S HEAT). I love Medival historicals but am ready to toss these three into the donation bag.

If anyone has read these books: is it critical to read WINTER'S HEAT (which was published first) before reading the others? Are the books worth keeping til I can connect with the first one? I think I started a Domning in the past but never finished it - I'm wondering if it was WINTER'S HEAT that I tried getting into and I tossed it.

I read all 4 of that series. I loved them enough to keep them. I remember there being connections in the series but each story could stand alone. The connection basically being related characters.

I have all of them, but it's been YEARS since I read them, so I can't even begin to tell you anything about any of the books.  lol   I do know, though, that for me to have all of them, I must have enjoyed them!

Two thumbs-up - good enough for me!  I'm keeping them to read. I do try to overcome my obsession with reading books in order, though from what I've seen online their 'order' is only by pub date so I'll give them a go.

Thank you for your feedback, Pamela and Michelle.

I read the whole series and loved them.  They are keepers.  I have read tons of medievals and they are some of the best along with the Fire Series by Anita Mills (Lady of Fire, Hearts of Fire, Fire and Steel, etc.). I read them all out of order and they were still good!  If you can get your hands on any in that Fire series, give them a go also.
