I have a question...I use PBS postage and PBS automatically calculates the postage and determines whether it should be Media Mail or First Class based on the weight of the package.  Sometimes (when a package weighs 8 or 9 ounces) I'd like to spend the extra few cents to upgrade the mail to First Class, but I can't see a way to tell the PBS postage system that I'd like to use first class even though it costs more.  Is there a way to do this that I'm not seeing?

Thanks!

Sorry, Laura.  PBS site is designed to use the least expensive, most cost effective postal class, and unless your package is under seven ounces, that means the PBS system will use Media Mail postage rate for calculating the postage.  Since this is how the system is set up to work, there isn't a way to go around it to change it.

You could always get your own postal scale and manually add stamps for the difference in cost and cross out the Media Mail notations and write First Class instead, but there isn't any way to generate a PBS wrapper for First Class mail for packages over the 7 oz mark.

Thanks Sianeka and Jeri!

I do have a postal scale that I check the weight at home.

Great idea to add stamps to the printed postage to "upgrade" to media mail!
