I'd been waiting for a book on my wish list for quite some time.  I was excited when I received the notice that it had been listed.  I quickly responded and the sender accepted the request.  Now skip to this morning, days later, I get an email stating that the pages are not attached to the spine.  The sender asked if I still wanted it.  I said no.

My question is:  I'll now be at the end of the wish list for this book, right?  Because I have to go back and re-wish list it?

Sorry if this is a silly question, I've never had an issue with my wish list.

Hi Cavy :) Your question is most certainly not silly! It's an extremely valid one. If the member offering the book cancelled the transaction for his or her end, then you will have been returned to your previous position on the Wish List.

edited to add: In instances such as this, the Sender should always be the one to cancel, so that the potential Requstor does not needlessly lose their place in line due to the offered book's uponstability. If you mistakenly cancelled on your end instead, this not only removed you from the Wish List line for that book, but also passed the unpostable offer on to the next member waiting in line. I suggest contacting the PBS Team to see what they think of the situation. If you've never done so before, here's how: find the Contact Us link, under the Company heading, amog the links at the botton of your screen. Once on the Contact page, click the gray Send us Feedback button, and you'll be taken to the page from which your message will be sent. Be sure to include as much information about the transaction as possible, including the book's title, and a detailed accounting of the conversation (which you can just as easily copy and paste into the message to PBS). They'll get in touch with you shortly thereafter, by way of an email and your Club Communications, which can be found as a blue link in the yellow strip just below the tabs on your main My Account page. Hope this helps, and results in a satisfactory resolution for you :)

Thanks so much!  I'll PM her and ask that she cancel the transaction.  Whew, I'd been waiting for several months.  Thank goodness, I won't have to start over.

Ha -- while I was composing this \/  Scott James!! (sorry:)) posted. What he said..

I'm hoping that someone who knows the FIFO rules better than I will weigh in here...

But no, I don't think you will go to the bottom of the list. Let the sender cancel the transaction, because they are the one who can't mail the book. (The book is unpostable if the binding isn't intact.) Then you''ll get your credit back and you should be offered the next available copy of the book.

I have cavies.  We have 2 little piggies.  I"m at work adn can't put a picture of them up. I have a toffe colored (she's named Toffee) one with the crazy swirly hair and a short haired multi-colored one named Sundae.

Aw, a fellow cavy lover.  That's Kumar in my avatar, he's spoiled rotten.  We have 5 in total.  Give Toffee and Sundae scritches for me.

I also agree with James.  The poster has a book that is not postable and therefore it is their responsibility to cancel the transaction.  Which will return you to your former place in FIFO.
