Updated 10/19: Thanks for all your responses.  Someone sent me a PM to tell me that Shopaholic Abroad is the British version of Shopaholic Takes Manhattan, and I saw on Kinsella's website that Shopaholic and Baby isn't due out til December 2007.  So, I think I might actually have everything that is out.

I have one called Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic too, but I can't figure out where that goes in the seriresCan anyone tell me?

For those who have read Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic books, I'm wondering if it makes any difference what order you read them in.  I have several, but not all of them, and I've been waiting to start the series.  But, I'm way way way down on the WL for a couple of them, so I thought I'd see what others thought about reading them out of order.  Thanks.

I have the 1st and 2nd on my shelf if you are interested...  I would recommend reading them in order but you don't have to!

you can read them out of order...but   each book takes off were the last one ends so  youd get more out of it by reading it in order..esp. the first 2 or 3 as thats were you really get to understand each character and what the relationships are about.

for sure read the first 2 in order if you have them!

Well I'm an order reader in everything, so I would recommend reading them in order. The characters will make more sense and her romance with her man starts in one and continues on through.

I agree with vwbernie. I think they just make more sense in order. By reading them out of order, you ruin the ending of the previous books. Its a great set and I think you'll get more enjoyment out of reading them in order. =) They are all so cute. I'm sure you will enjoy them! =)

Hi Lisa!

I LOVE the Shopaholic books! Below are the order of the books in us versions or uk versions. Actually, Shopaholic and Baby was released in February of this year as a hardcover. http://www.amazon.com/Shopaholic-Baby-Sophie-Kinsella/dp/0385338708/ref=pd_bbs_2/104-6996451-1300724?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1192812181&sr=8-2  http://www.randomhouse.com/bantamdell/kinsella/bookshelf.html

The release that comes out in December is the paperback edition of Shopaholic and Baby.

( us versions)

  1. Confessions of a Shopaholic
  2. Shopaholic Takes Manhattan
  3. Shopaholic Ties the Knot
  4. Shopaholic and Sister
  5. Shopaholic and Baby

(uk versions titles - different covers)

  1. Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic
  2. Shopaholic Abroad
  3. Shopaholic Ties the Knot
  4. Shopaholic and Sister
  5. Shopaholic and Baby

Thanks Jennifer.  Too bad I didn't know about the US vs UK versions and the titles.  I atually have them all with the exception of Shopaholic and Baby which I have on my WL.  I have both Confessions and Secret Dreamworld which I guess are the same book, so I'll just post Secret Dreamworld over on Bookmooch since it's an international site and it will probably go better over there.  In fact, I think I got it from someone in the UK.

Anyway, you all really helped me understand the series, which I shall start reading as soon as I finish the Terri Blackstock series I'm reading now (Newpointe 911).

You may want to keep an eye on the chick lit deals thread. The Shopaholic Series usually show up in deals often.
