I enjoyed A Girl with a Pearl Earring very much.

What other Chevalier novel would you recommend?

I'll answer my own question.

Try The Lady and the Unicorn and then Fallen Angels. Chevalier has a new book out called Remarkable Creatures which is a historical fiction work about women who dig fossils. Based on a true female fossil hunter, Mary Anning. Way cool and on my wishlist.

I just finished "The Virgin Blue" and LOVED it..it's her first novel.  Excellent story.

Definitely The Lady and the Unicorn.  It's one of the most unexpectedly enjoyable books I've ever read---by any author--and I actually liked it much much better than Girl With the Pearl Earring.

My favorites, in order, were:

The Girl With the Pearl Earring

The VIrgin Blue

The Lady and the Unicorn

Burning Bright

Fallen Angels (my least favorite)

And yeah...I have her new one wishlisted too...can't wait to get it!

I liked The Lady & the Unicorn better than Pearl Earring also.  I have a copy of The Lady & the Unicorn on my shelf.  Would offer a 3/1 deal to anyone sending me a PM requesting it.

Also going to keep an eye out for the new one.  Sounds fascinating.

I read Girl with the Pearl Earring years ago and really liked it.  I just finished The Virgin Blue a week or so ago and didn't enjoy it as much.  I have The Lady and the Unicorn and Fallen Angels on my TBR pile, but probably won't get to them for awhile.

The only one I didn't really like was Burning Bright. The ending was not super.

The Virgin Blue was my favorite and then the Lady and the Unicorn.  I also enjoyed Fallen Angels.

I think Burning Bright was my least favorite.  The plot was fine, but it had the most unlikeable characters and they never earned my empathy.  Sarah, I agree.  The ending was a dud.

I read an ARC of Remarkable Creatures a few months ago, and I really enjoyed it.  Good choice. :)
