If books come from a used bookstore, and they stamped the inside cover of the book, or someone has written their name on the inside cover, is this postable books?

Also, could I offer 6 unpostable books for 1 credit in the bazaar, or does someone have to take 1 book off of my bookshelf with an offer of 5 unpostables as freebies?

Lisa,

Those books are postable.

ETA:  Yes Lisa, you can ask for credits for unpostables in the Book Bazaar forum as long as you disclose what makes them unpostable.  However, you cannot post them to your bookshelf.

I may be corrected by a Tour Guide, Lisa, but I don't think you can ever ask a credit for unpostables, no matter how many you are offering.

Thanks all ,for the correction/update.

The way I read it, I can not ask for credits for the unpostables, but I have seen deals in the bazaar  ----Order 1 book from my shelf, and get ?? unpostables with it-----. I just wanted to make sure if  I did that, it would not be against the guidelines.

Also, I am getting really POST SHY.  I have sent out over 80 books without an RWAP., but did a deal in the bazaar -4/1--and got a complaint.  I returned the 5 credits, without being asked.  So now, I am going over every book, looking at every little thing, and have deleted several books off of my shelf, and thinking of doing the order 1 book with free unpostables.  They are probably not unpostables,  but, like I said I am POST SHY now.  That is why I was asking if the UBS stamps on the front inside cover were ok, names written on the inside covers, etc    Some of the books have yellowing.

Actually Debbie, I think you can ask for a credit for a WL unpostable book, as long as you disclose fully what makes it unpostable so that others can decide whether or not they want to burn a credit for it (some will, others won't).

-4/1--and got a complaint.  I returned the 5 credits, without being asked.

Why did you return 5 credits?  Only one credit was received for the 4 books, so if you felt you needed to return anything, only 1 credit should have been returned.

You can ask for a credit for  an unpostable as long as you do it through the  bazaar but you can't put them on your shelf..

Names on a inside cover are postable.

Dawn,

5 books were taken off my shelf, and gave other 15 books as freebies.

Lisa, are you saying someone ended up with 20 free books? Whoa!!

By the way..yellowing does not make a book unpostable. Not unless it's an actual stain that is yellow.

How many books did they complain about?   If they only complained about 1 or 2 books and you felt they were borderline or bad books-then I would have only returned 1 credit.  If you knew all the books were postable then you didn't have to return any credits.

I did not want an RWAP and I felt that is what would have happened.  Some of the books were just  newer, just read,  and others were very old books.  So yes, some of the older books were borderline. So, now I don't know what to do.   Again, I am POST SHY.  I will be afraid to send any older books--yellowing, stamps on inside cover, etc.

yellowing, stamps on inside cover, etc.

Those in and of themselves are okay and do not make books unpostable.   There have been some books that I have received that I personally would not have posted, but they were not technically unpostable so I didn't mark them as such.  At some point, every book reaches the "last postable read" stage.   Don't let that bad experience put you off posting, Lisa.
