I have been a member for over a year and a half and was wondering about what to do when you have another member harassing you? I searched all over the site for this information and have not found anything on the site. Thanks so much.

Contact PBS using the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of this page listed under "Company". Describe what the situation is, giving them the other member's nickname, pertinent details. If this is a dispute over a book they will not intervene, but if you are truly being harrassed they will step in.

Thanks for the info.

This person is being a drama queen and wanting some form of attention from anyone I guess. I will be contacting company shortly.

The sad thing is that I gave credit to this person and then they go ahead and post the private PM's that I sent to this person here on the BB. This person has a habit of having problems with other members on the way that they sent the book, etc . I have never had problems with anyone here until now.

Yeah, that is totally inappropriate behaviour in my book! Don't let this get you down and let TPTB know.

Thanks and believe you me,  it is just so petty. But I did contact PBS and live help and will see where it goes from here.

Take care!

So is she sending you harassing PMs, or just posting on the discussion forums? (you said BB, but then you said "here", so I'm not sure which you mean. PBS has Bulletin Boards, Discussion Forums and a Book Bazaar, so BB might mean any of those.)

If she posted your name, then she needs to remove it ASAP, and usually plenty of people will jump all over anyone who does that. I haven't seen anyone post another member's name recently though. If she's posting about a transaction with you but not identifying you, then she's entitled to come here to vent or ask for advice, just like anyone else.

This person is sending harrasing PM's as well as posting here on the forums. I have contacted PBS in regards to this issue.

I too am having a problem but it may be that I am the sender or reminding PM's to complete a box-o-books that is 2 1/2 years old. I have to look at that every time I go in so I remind her as well in hopes she will do the right thing and complete her side of it. I sent my books with PBS DC and she never mailed nor marked the books mailed until I asked her to clear it off.  I no longer care about the books she stole or the insinuation i didn't mail mine i just want the box off my list. I marked mine received to get rid of it but she won't do the same so sending a constant reminder is the only recourse i have.

I contacted PBS yesterday to see if they could get rid of the box but have not heard yet. I am open to other ideas of resolving this any suggestions?

Thanks!

Lisa

I have never done the box o books before. I think that there is a fee involved I believe?

In any case, PBS has been notified in regards to my problem. This particular person has had problems with other people so the best thing for me to do is take the high road and be the better person. My time is being put to better use for more important things than worry about how a book is sent, etc and so forth.....Case closed!

Lisa, if she didn't receive your box, she should not mark it received.  (Delivery confirmation means it was delivered somewhere, but sometimes to the wrong address.)

If she never responded to your first PM, then the Admin Team will step in and take care of it.  Contact them.

If she responded, told you that she did not receive the package, and you continue to send repeated unsolicited PMs, the Help Center says

Note: the Personal message system may not be used for obscene, rude or harassing messages, or sending multiple unsolicited messages to members (this is considered spam).  If you spam by PM and we receive a complaint, you will be warned.  If you repeat the offense after being warned, your membership will be terminated permanently.

If you just want the box removed from view, contact the Admin Team.  They'll be happy to take care of that for you.

And here's a help doc from the receiver's point of view:

Close this Window

What if I never receive my Box-O-Books?

If you have agreed to a Box-O-Books swap and the other Boxer's books don't arrive (or if the swap is not marked mailed by a week after it was accepted), you should contact the other Boxer using the Personal Message button on the swap, to ask if the Box was mailed (or when it might be mailed).

  • If a Box-O-Books is lost in the mail, the Boxer who sent the lost books can compensate the other Boxer by (1) offering replacement books (2) offering credits for the unreceived books or (3) a combination of (1) and (2).
    • When the swap has been settled however the two Boxers agree the Box can be marked received.
  • If both Boxers agree that no compensation for the unreceived box is necessary, the box can be marked received OR we can be contacted to move the swap to completed status
    • The Boxer who did not receive needs to be the one to ask for us to move the swap to completed, to confirm that he or she consents to this without compensation
  • If the Boxer who did not receive wants compensation and the Boxer who sent the "lost" books does not give it, the Boxer who did not receive should contact us.
    • In this case, we wil move the swap to completed and the Boxer who did not receive can leave Boxer feedback about the swap.
    • The Boxer who is refusing to settle the swap will not be allowed to leave feedback at that point - if no feedback has been supplied then positive feedback will be supplied from that side of the swap if we move it to completed status without compensation to the Boxer who wants compensation.

If the other Boxer does not respond to your Personal Message within a week, you should contact us and we will look into the situation.

Patty,

I read that all after I posted and am waiting for that to happen, She never mailed her box it sat as printed for the past 2  1/2 yrs so i told her i wanted just to be done with it & that if she marked it mailed i would mark it received and could she do the same just to get rid of it. She then marked it mailed & i did my part and marked her's receivedbut she didn't do her part. Back at the time of the box she did acknowledge to me she had received the box and that she would mail mine as soon as she could and i periodically messaged her about it and she stopped answering.  I did email PBS yesterday and am waiting and planned to leave it at that until her messages took the tone of listen LADY toward me... So I am guilty of sending constant remind messages but at the time I thought it was my only recourse...

Thanks for you help and references,

Lisa
