I mailed some books 5 days ago with DC, throiugh the PBS site to get the quick credits but they still haven't been credited. I've never had that take more than a day or so and was wondering if anyone else was having that problem.

Yes, that feature is non-functional at this time, supposed to be a USPS problem.  You can contact The Team and ask them to manually transfer your credits. You may notice that the enroute scans are missing from your PBS link, that's part of the same problem.  But the scans may be viewable on USPS.com.

It's a known problem. The USPS says it's a PBS problem; PBS says it's a USPS problem. Since it is unliklely that the USPS is going to go to any effort to fix it, I think PBS ought ot, even though they didn't originate it; PBS, and us members, are the ones suffering for it.

PBS's claims that it is either all USPS's fault and/or has been fixed do not affect the fact that IT IS STILL NOT WORKING.

I'm just Reporting in:  :)

USPS had no problem scanning my packages properly.  The scan at acceptance properly registered the DC, and properly charged me the $0.20 for the PBS DC.

However, the packages have received 2 scans now from w/in the USPS system:  1 at acceptance, and 1 at the sorting center, and still no PBS Quick Credit registered under my account.

I will write to the Team and ask them to manually quick credit me, but I imagine they are going crazy doing this.

Not sure what to do at this point.

Keep complaining to TPTB at PBS. They know the feature is not working and they continue to collect your money anyway...

I've mailed 7 books in the past few weeks, all with the IMbp bar codes and paid for quick credit. The last bunch, the USPS demanded that I either pay 90 cents per package for tracking or they would cover up my IMbp bar codes! NONE of my 7 books mailed are showing quick credits yet.  I am frustrated with BOTH USPS and PBS at this point.  PBS really needs to communicate with all of us somehow (at least make an announcement that they are aware of customer complaints/issues and are addressing it) and then MANAGE this problem.  Meanwhile, I've overpaid for a service that isn't even working.

There is starting to be good news on this front. Although it doesn't address the issue of Quick Credits not being automatically applied, please see the two posts made by the PBSTeam today @ 1:29 PM ET and 1:31 PM ET in the following thread: USPS not reading PBS DC scans

Becca,  The Team at PBS has given quick credits, all you have to do is ask. :)

I've had no problem at all at the USPS counter.  I had read how to tell the counter people to scan the packages and it worked perfectly, and I live in the middle of nowhere in the boonies.

The only thing now is the feed to generate quick credits and the Team is working on that quite dilligently.  Patience is the name of the game.  This place is too wonderful and any small glitches are always outwieghed by the fantastic customer service from PBS, and the wonderful site and features in general.

The instructions for explaining to USPS counter folks is in the other topic, it works like a charm.  All they have to do is place your package on the scale, input the Zip Code, then scan it.

It will generate the correct $0.20 for DC, etc. so they will have a hard tiime telling you that you owe $0.90  :)

"Becca,  The Team at PBS has given quick credits, all you have to do is ask. :)"

I saw plenty of posts from people that contacted TPTB and never got a response.

{Raising hand}

I have yet to receive a response to any PM sent to TPTB on this or the problem with the USPS trying to charge an extra 90¢ for tracking. Beyond annoying, it's actually kinda rude. I've been a member here since 2007 and honestly expect more from them. I can deal with the fact that over the years they have yet to implement *any* of my suggested improvements, but to be ignored... angry

WOO HOO! SUCCESS!

Today, I mailed two books from my small, local USPS branch. I used e-DC only and paid for my postage (plus 20¢) at the counter. Not only have today's ACCEPTANCE scans shown up in PBS, but I received my Quick Credits!

Now, the only remaining issue (to me) is not being charged 90¢ at those local USPS branches that have a POS computer system. (The branch I mailed from today does not.)

Ed, you did not contact us.  Sometimes messages do get buried in our inbox and we don't get to things as fast as we want to all the time, but we need to set the record straight here:  You did not contact us about this issue - we did not ignore you.  You need to put your hand down.  :)

I guess that the record is now really straight... wink

Oh, and BTW, thanks for getting this stuff worked out!

Ed -- to ask for help or support, always use the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page.

Cathy... Look, it was never my intention to get into a 'he-said/she-said' kinda discussion. Whoever responded above as PBS Team, telling me to put my hand down and to set the record straight, stoked the fire. In addition to the message to PBS Team linked above, I did use the Contact Us link to send a message asking that I be given Quick Credit for a book sent on the 5th of this month; I never received a response of any kind - to either message. Perhaps they got buried somewhere in the inbox. I know that you all have been swamped right now since the ned of lasrt month, and that stuff happens.

No problem for me. I just noticed that your link was to a screenshot of a PM instead of a feedback message, and I thought you might not know that PMs don't get replies. You can see the feedback message you sent and any response thereto on your Club Communications page.

"...on your Club Communications page."

Oddly, there is nothing on that page that indicates I ever sent a Feedback message to PBS. And, after reviewing my email inbox, there isn't the usual auto-response. Hmmmmm... Very strange, indeed. Perhaps the system burped and they never got a Feedback message from me, after all. So, the record is only partially straight, huh?

Sometimes I get busy composing, and somehow manage to navigate away from my message before I actually hit the "Submit" button....thus the messege disappears into cyberspace  crying

Credit Assurance appears to be fully functional again.  2 for 4 late last week, 2 for 2 yesterday!

USPS scans are working, scans read on digitial receipt and match the scan code on my mailing.

But still not getting quick credits thru PBS site, even though USPS shows it's been scanned 3 times now!

My quick credits are still outstanding as of todday, books were scanned and mailed several days ago and have been scanned w/in USPS a total of 3 times now at different points.  :(

On day 4 now, items have been scanned multiple times by USPS........but still No Quick Credits from PBS

I'm not purchasing it anymore until the bugs have been worked out.  I know PBS is busy working on it, so I'm not complaining.

By the way, we have no copies of correspondence sent to Contact Us. YOu use contact us, it goes  to PBS, but nothing in "sent" file on member's side to show they sent anything, right?

I mailed a book using DC on the 11th. Still no credit. Contacted PBS a few days ago, got an automated reply on the 24th, but nothing else yet. Sigh.

Thought I saw an official notice that this all should be working correctly again.  But unfortunately, according to real users, not working correctly all the time.  I wish TPTB would weigh in on this.

My advice, is if your package is picking up scans but not importing into PBS (or transferring credits) is to let TPTB know.
