Hi everyone. Just stopped by to say a quick hello. I know valli has been updating you on why I haven't been around ... after weeks of what the heck is it, the diagnosis is gallstones. Yuck-o. I am not too comfortable which makes it hard to sit long at my computer so I've been staying offline as much as I can. But I miss everyone very much and hearing about all the good HF finds. Thanks for the link to Richard the Lionheart, Mimi, that made my day!!!! <sigh, King Richard....>

I hope Valli is ok after Gustav. My brother has evacuated New Orleans and is staying with us for now in SW Florida. He brought his cat too so now we're up to six kitties. The excitement never ends at my house ;-)

I hope to be back soon. I'm doing a holistic purge treatment this weekend that I've been gearing up for the last week (lots of apple juice followed by a swift round of alternating shots of olive oil and lemon juice) and hopefully it will work, if it doesn't make me vomit first! I don't have health insurance so I'm trying to avoid the need to have the gallbladder removed. I've only known one person so far who this purge didn't work for, so fingers crossed. It may not be pleasant, but surgery is really not an option I want to persue, even keyhole surgery...

I will pop on in soon. Hope all is well with everyone and that everyone in affected areas are safe and dry.

Ouch, you must be uncomfortable, I'm so sorry to hear it.  You've been missed here and I hope you feel well enough soon to post more often.  Keep us posted on your "purge."  :)

Hope you feel better soon!  I too had gallstones and ended up getting my gallbladder removed in april.  I hope your treatment works so you don't have to have the surgery but if you do its not so bad.

Hi guys. thanks for all the wonderful cheer. As always you're all awesome. Purge has been pushed off to Sunday as we have to spend Saturday boarding up and preparing for Ike.  I'm so not in the mood for a hurricane AND a purge ;-)

Speaking of which, I may not be online even if I feel better this week if we lose any power. I hope everyone is safe where they live and especially hope that Valli is okay!!! I HATE not being online....

Hey gang, can't tell if the purge did the trick or not, but I am feeling slightly better. It was not a pleasant experience and I don't think I could do it again. I gagged on drinking the olive oil, Just GROSS!

Preparing now for Ike. We don't expect to get blasted but the winds have picked up and the rain is steady. Oh well, it beats a class 4 heading straight for us so no complaints here!

Don't know if you're around much these days -- but guess who else has gallstones?  Yep, me!  The other Marci.  ha ha.  I'm scheduled for surgery next Tuesday.  Good thing I've got plenty to read while I recover.

I can't believe both Marci's have gallstones! Good luck with your surgery. My friend had the surgery in October and she is SO much better now. I don't have insurance so I am controlling it with diet, herbs and acupuncture.

Keep us posted on how you're doing!

Oh, wow! You Marci's are more alike than I would have thought! I hope you both are feeling better soon!

Genie is ill too. The last time I spoke with her, she said she was doing a bit better and hopes to be back with us in February.
