Let's say you are in position 25 of 150 for a wishlisted book and you put your account on vacation hold.  If wishes are granted for this book, will this activity show on your wishlist page, even though your account is on hold?  In other words, does your position move up on the wishlist page during this time?  OR, once you take it off vacation hold, does the number suddenly change a lot (from, say, 25 to 19) if a bunch of wishes were granted while on hold?

If I recall correctly, your place number shows up, but the last posted and estimates don't.

Actually, the way Vacation Hold affects your wish list is that it simply "holds" your spot in line.

If you do not have your wish list on auto-request, and you put your account on Vacation Hold, and then somebody posts that book.  You would be "skipped over" in line for that book if it got to you.  If you had your wish list on auto-request though and had a credit available, then it would be offered to you.  If it was on auto-request but you had no credit available, then it would skip you.

So, in the example you gave, if you were 25th in line for a book and then go on Vacation Hold.  If 6 books are posted, and then you come off Vacation Hold, then you're still 25 in line.  This can be confusing to see on the list, because it can cause some people to jump up and down depending on what's going off.  Like, in your case, the person who was originally number 35 in line when you put your account on hold, suddenly became number 34.  And then the 6 books were posted, so they became number 28.  But then you came back and took your spot back so they went back to number 29.

That's not quite correct. If you are on Vacation Hold your place in line stays the same, not your number. If you were 25th when you went on hold and 6 copies were posted to FIFO you would now be in 19th and your Wish List should reflect that. It is purely a function of the date you Wish Listed the book and no one with a date later than yours will pass you until you hit #1, then it will be offered to the next active Wish until you come off of Vacation Hold.

What can cause confusion is that you may see copies posted, but not see you number move because those copies were posted directly to someone or another member was returned to their place in front of you at the same time a copy was posted.

So just so I'm clear:  while I'm on hold the number will show 25 (or whatever it was when I went onto hold); and as soon as I come off hold it wlil show the 'new' number if some wishes were granted, etc.  Correct?

The number should change even while you keep your shelf on Vacation Hold. It should change as soon as someone in front of you in line is removed, either through an offer or their own Hold or removing it.
