I'm new on here and I've read through the conditions of what books are supposed to be. However, I was wondering if it has a name on the inside cover is that considered okay or not? A lot of my books do and I don't want to start adding them on here if that's going to be a problem.

That is allowed.

No writing or highlighting or underlining on text pages

  • a signature or note on the flyleaf or inside front or back cover is OKAY

Definitely read thru the book posting guidelines, what I quoted above is from that.

What Sarah said and quoted is correct.

Documentation for what is and what is not swappable and okay to post on PBS can be found in the Help Docs.

Place your mouse cursor over "Help Center" in the silver-gray bar near the top of any PBS page and select "Browse Help Docs". Then click "Posting Books" in the yellow bars at the left and read entries for "Is my book okay to post here?" and What can be posted for swapping here?"

In addition, it is also very helpful to read "Book Condition Criteria for 'Swappability' at PBS" to learn more about what is expected regarding book condition.  Also from the "Help Docs" page, you can learn about "Requestor Conditions" by entering that phrase in the Search box. Requestor Conditions are commonly referred to by members as RC.

Books that have been requested and received that do not comply with the PBS rules can be marked as RWAP (Received With A Problem). To learn more about this, enter "received with a problem" in the Help Docs search box.

As long as the person requesting the book does not have an RC (requestor condition) that says "No writing in the book", that is fine to post.

fyi - If someone has an RC, it is prominently displayed \on your account page when they request a book from you -- you have to say "Yes, my book meets this condition" before you can continue.
