This great author of many Spenser novels and the Jesse Stone novels passed away today. What a loss to the mystery world. His latest Jesse Stone novel has not yet been released.

I'm very sorry to hear that!  I recently Robert B. Parker's novels and have enjoyed the ones I've read.

I am so sad! I feel like I've lost a relative! I've read his books for years and years. I just can't believe there won't be anymore Spenser or Hawk or Susan or Rosie!!! What a gift this man was to mystery readers everywhere. Bummer...

RIP, Robert B. Parker. You will be greatly missed.

I had no idea he had passed away. This hit me like a ton of bricks. His westerns with Virgil Cole and Everitt Hitch are some of my favorite books of all time. So sad.

This is so sad.  It's also sad to know that his characters that I love (Sunny Randall, Jessie Stone and Spenser) will never again enter my home.

I wish he had written a last novel where Sunny and Jessie fell in love and Jessie kicked his alcohol habit.  That would have been a fitting end to those two series.

RIP Mr. Parker.  You contributed greatly to this world while you were with us.

I'm at the age where I'm losing "favorite authors" more often ... and I hate it more every time it happens! Knowing I will never again be able to "visit" with the characters that have become like personal friends, people I know and like, is the loss of a friend.

In the case of Robert Parker, even more of a blow ... three series rather than just one ... and I have the last Jesse Stone book on pre-order.

I know Sharon, This is a very sad loss. I look at pics of the authors I love  and they certainly aren't getting any younger!!

I watch lists for new releases and always read his books as soon as I could get them. The last few years, I have been getting most of my books from the library when they were available. They always ordered his new books. In fact, I just finished ( in the past couple of months) his latest release. Someone mentioned that there is one more book to be released. I will look forward to this last mystery from The Great Parker.
