I posted a wishlisted book (only one person wanted) the RC stated they only wanted like new books and i declined but that sort of RC makes me wary. The person then requested the same book from me again with the same RC I passed on the book again with the same reason and then they requested it for a third time. The condition of my book wont change should i just not post it??? it is getting annoying denying the same RC over and over. Is there anything I can do????

Yes, PM the person and let them know that their book request has come to the same person 3 times. If they want the book from you they should turn off the RC, and if they don't want the book from you they should wait to order it after your copy is gone, or there are more copies in the system.

I thought the system was setup now that if you decline a request because of RC's your book won't be offered to that member again unless they turn off the RC's?  Has this changed or am I misunderstanding something?

When I have been the only wisher for a book, and a copy comes up, and my RC cannot be met, the book goes off of my WL and onto my RL automatically.  There, I can see that there is 1 copy in the system, and it is the copy that does not meet my RC.  Once there are 0 copies, I add it back to my WL  or >=2 copies in the system, I order it so that I'm not stuck in the loop.

I suck at websites, so how do I know to do this?  PBS sends an e-mail explaining this when you are the only wisher for a book and there are no other copies available!

I agree, PM the member and tell them that your book is what it is.  They can have it without their RC or they can wait.  Just as the PBS e-mail explains.  Which they have probably gotten 3 times.

It shouldn't be letting them put a posted book on their WL.  I wonder if this person realizes that the request keeps going back to you.  They probably look it up on their RL, see that there's a copy and then request the book-not thinking about that fact that it's the same person who keeps denying their RCs. Then of course this keeps your book from being requested because it's constantly tied up with their request.

OH, good call, Mary -- then, yes, they are ordering it from you (see, I'm bad at websites) EVERY SINGLE TIME.

But I agree with what Purvi said... they shouldn't be able to order it from the OP. The times I've been denied for my no-smokers RC, the book (if no one else is wishing for it) gets put on my RL. Believe me, I've tried to go order it again and there's a red box that says I cannot order it. It doesn't even give me the option to do so. I'm GLAD my RCs work and am OK with not getting the book, but I don't see how this person is able to repeat the process WITH their RCs.

For Heather--I too have the same RC for non smokers.  I got offered a WL book (I was the only one that had WL it adn the persom posted it after I ahd put it on my WL) but since I had it to Auto-Request I did not know what was going on until I got the email saying "Request Cancelled due to RC not being met." (the same email Purvi mentioned)

The way to get around that is to go find it on your Reminder list, order it, TURN OFF YOUR REQUESTOR CONDITIONS FOR THIS BOOK, then finalize the order.  Otherwise, you can not order that copy of the book.  And since for me it was the only on eposted, I decided to suck it up, if you will.  I've heard that if you lpray it with Febreeze then stick it in the freezer in a zip lock for awhile, the smell goes away.

Won't the Febreeze cause liquid damage to the book?

Chivalry -- I'm also dealing with getting smoke out of my books.  I read about the freezer thing, but heard that once the book warms up it smells again.  Have you had luck with it?  My smoky stash is currently sitting in a plastic bag with a sock full of baking soda and it gets to sit in the sun for about 3 hours a day.

Jennifer -- I'm glad things got sorted out and they finally ordered the book!  Yay!
