In the past week I've gotten offers for books  "on my wish list" that I've already gotten.  Aren't they supposed to automatically come of my wish list?  Could there be a glitch in the system?  Just wondering if anyone else is currently having this problem?

You can't count on the system removing multiple editions from your WL when you receive a WL book.  Sometimes it connects them but I find most of the time it doesn't.  So if you are like me and don't really care about binding and WL every edition of a book, you need to regularly go through your WL to make sure there isn't an edition still there.

I noticed recently a book went "lost" in the mail, the book was returned to my wish list. When the book arrived several days later, the book was still on my wish list and I had to manually delete the book. Could that possible have happened to you?

I've noticed at times when I offer a WL book to someone who has multiple editions of the same book on their WL, the other editions still show up on their WL so it's possible that they will eventually get offers for those books, even though they've gotten the book already under the ISBN that I offered them.

I've learned that you can't always assume PBS will delete the other editions of your book (as Mary mentioned already).

The system only links books if they are listed exactly the same.  A change in the title or author will prevent books from linking.  So a subtitle, series name or middle initial will prevent a link.  In addition, when the book data is edited, the links do not always connect.

As others have mentioned, books going lost and being returned to your wish list can cause the problem, other versions if you have wish listed more than one ISBN can end up being offered to you, it will also happen if you mark the book as a Problem swap. The site returns the book to your Wish List so that you can get a postable copy and you have to manually remove it.
