I received a book that was marked mailed on 12/10 but was really mailed 12/31. The book was declared lost today. I went into the transaction archive to mark it RWAP- late mailing. The only catagories I could choose from were "damaged by sender, damaged by USPS, RC's not met, or wrong book sent." I assume this means I can't RWAP for late mailing from the transaction archive even though the late mailing was the reason it was declared lost.

The categories change once the book is declared "lost". But the little box to fill in the date will still be there. Use it!

From a transaction I wanted to RWAP for the same reason, when marking from my Transaction Archive I didn't think it gave me the option to RWAP for late mailing.  Since late mailing can result in lost books...wish TPTB would make this change soon.

So after you chose "Received with a problem", there wasn't a drop down menu to give you the option of late postmark?

No, only the 4 options that I described in my first post. No option for late mailing. I just hope putting in the mailed date will be enough to alert PBS. If the book had arrived before it was declared lost, I could have RWAP for late mailing.

There is no additional sanction for the sender of a late book except an email reminding them not to mail late. That's triggered by putting the date in the date mailed field. The same thing happens no matter if you mark it late mailed from the En Route tab, or from the Transaction Archive. You will notice, if you mark a book RWAP for late mailing form the En Route tab, the book is not recorded as a RWAP in the Transaction Archive.

Sara P,  Thanks for that bit of info.  I just received 2 books that were mailed 2 to 3 weeks after promised & didn't know how to handle.  Did not want senders to think I didn't notice.
