I recieved a book today that has yellowish dots (stains?) on the whole top of the book pages and randomly through out the book in 3-4 page segments...I know yellowing of pages is totally nomal aging but is random yellowish dots normal again also?  The sender has been a memember since 2007 so it is not someone who is new and this is a wishlisted book although the publication date is 1987 so it is by far not a new book.  Otherwise this book has no water damage, no highlighting, no writing just these odd yellowish stains.

It sounds like foxing, which is a natrual process of aging on the paper. Looks like "rust spots" on the paper, lots of small dots that are yellow/brown, or reddish.

Foxing is postable.

I've noticed a few of my books have done that, but I didn't think they were postable either. I'm glad to have this answered too!
