These seem to comprise three fourths of the posts to this board, but here goes another one: I requested a copy of William Young's 'The Shack' to replace the one I was reading and lost when our house burned down. I received it today, and did my normal check (I always just do a fairly quick couple of fans of the pages, not a page-by-page thorough scan or anything) and it looks to be in good used shape, except one thing. At the bottom of page 18, below the text, there is a triangle shaped spot of what looks like chocolate or something like that. It's about three-quarters of an inch long and about a third of an inch wide at the base, so it's fairly decently sized but not huge. So, do you think I should mark it RWAP? On one hand, I suppose it's possible that the sender missed it, but considering I spotted it right away with just a quick fan of the pages, I think it's fairly noticeable.

If I thought it'd be a keeper, it wouldn't matter so much, but not being much into Christian fiction, I'm fairly sure this would be a book I'd put back into the system when I'm done with it and able to mail out books again. Plus, I can't have many keepers, since they're so hard to move when we relocate again. This is really NOT a time when I can be accumulating unpostables I'm not interested in keeping. Darn it.

I wouldn't feel comfortable posting it, but I would really be on the fence about marking it RWAP.  If I did, I probably wouldn't ask for my credit back.  Since it is a WL book, I'm pretty sure if you post it in the BB someone will snap it up.

BTW - it's nice to see you back.  I hope things are going better for you. :)

Oh yeah, I didn't think about the BB. That'll probably work to help me send it on to someone else when I'm done. Thanks. Yeah, I just wasn't sure about marking it RWAP, since I could imagine someone missing it, so I figured I'd see what others thought. You have a good idea though, so I think I'll just mark it received and then use the BB to share it with someone else when I'm finished, even if I end up giving it as a freebie, just so long as someone else gets to enjoy it and I don't need to worry about it.

Yeah, it's good to be back, thanks. Things are getting better, and I hope to be a completely active part of PBS again soon. At least I can hang around the boards again, until I have the supplies to send out books again and such.

I'm thinking if it looks like some foreign substance, its a stain and thus RWAP.

I've seen a book or two recently with ink smudges from the printer on them though. If it looks like something like that, its probably postable.

No, Sara, it's definitely not ink. It looks like chocolate, and some flaked off when I scratched at it, just like chocolate. It's like someone was eating something and dropped a bit. So, maybe mark it RWAP without asking for the credit back? Since it could have been missed, but they need to check more carefully next time.
