I received a book with water damage to the last several chapters but not the back cover, meaning it was not damaged in transit. I messaged the sender a week ago and requested my credit back. No answer to my PM. I followed up today, after waiting the requisite week per the help docs, that there was no response. I get a PM from the sender that says "send it back to me and I will give you the credit back". Um no. So I copied and pasted from the help documents and politely informed her that I am not required to send the book back, but will happily do so once she refunds my initial credit plus a credit to cover postage. Tell me I'm within my rights please? I believe I saw a post about this previously.

Yes, you have it right. You marked it RWAP, correct?

Sorry that you received a damaged book so early in your time here.

No need to apologize... you didn't send me the damaged book. However, sadly, this is my third one. Fortunately the other 2 were resolved very quickly and without issue, though the second one the sender didn't respond to my PM, just refunded the credit. I hate asking for the credit back because I feel like I'm being picky but the first was gnawed by an animal and had water damage, the second had highlighting and writing and had not been discussed prior to being sent as required for textbooks (it was "Brave New World") and this one like I said has water damage in the last several chapters. All within days of each other too. Full moon? Who knows. Not enough to sully my experience. Hopefully it's the last of it for a while though.

so she replied with "whatever" to my follow up PM about the PBS rules but refunded my credit. I thanked her and said I was sorry if she felt the rules were unfair and told her I would mark the transaction resolved. Judging from most of the posts on the forum it seems most members feel the same way I do about the rules - they are there for a reason and it's not too much to ask they be followed. There's just that small percentage.... But then again we covered in therapy today that my expectations both for myself and others are exceedingly high, which leads to much of my disappointment

You did good, and she refunded the credit, despite the momentary regression into childhood, so it's all good:P
